Juan Varea Segura 1908-2008 first centenary of his birth
www.juanvarea.es has been conceived to spread everywhere the cellebrations organized for the first centenary of the birth of the Maestro del Cante Juan Varea Segura, Favourite Son of Burriana who represented the most important flamenco singer born in Comunidad Valenciana.
Burriana Town Council, as the promoter of this centenary with the Juan Varea Segura Cultural Association, offers through this site all the program imformation of the activities that will take place during 2008, and also news and some important resources to help discovering the life and work of the great cantaor Juan Varea. This site wants to be a tool of knowlegde, putting at disposal to the www all the course of the Maestro del Cante, and also, giving the possibility to the users to make contributions to continue with the centenary purpose, which is: rediscover his figure and artistic category to the new generations of flamenco lovers, and also, the Flamenco "world" assume Juan Varea's significance in this Art history considered Universal nowadays. Burriana Town Council will accept them with pleasure.
